My Monthly Planner!

Image
I love doing these Monthly Planners! I usually end up doing one every year even though I make it so that I can kinda use it from year to year. The plastic covers don't really hold up all that well. Here is the one I did for 2014. I used a sketch I saw on Pinterest, PPA145 , simple but very nice! The DSP is from Stampin' Up! out of the new Occasions Mini, Retro Fresh. There are no real instructions for doing this.... All I do is measure the inside of the plastic cover and cut the paper slightly smaller that what is measures. I took the staple out of the calendar and punched holes in the DSP after I scored and folded it. Then I put the staple back in, attaching the DSP to the calendar itself. Then you just decorate as you desire.... but don't put to much embellishment on it! Keep it fairly flat so the plastic lasts a little longer :)   Happy Crafting!

Gift Card Box

Image
I loved this idea as soon as I saw it! There is no way they would guess it is a gift card inside! This was the perfect thing to do for my friends son, we are exchanging gifts and I wanted his to be harder to guess at.   These are really easy to make and the Gift Card Box Tutorial can be found on SplitCoastStamper in the Tutorial Forum of the website.   This is the box closed. I put the ribbon around it to act as a belly band to help keep it closed and to have somewhere to secure the tag to.    Here is the inside view of the box. I used Icy Squares because it was easier for the box to close than to use anything else.  I used DSP for the inside piece but still wanted to add a little something so the little Merry Christmas was perfect. The inspiration for the tag came from a group of tags I found on Pinterest. I really liked the simplicity of them and choose one for this project.   Enjoy making this amazing project and follow my blog it you like what you see s

Christmas (Domino) Ornaments

Image
Decorate with these simple Domino Ornaments! They are very easy! All you need is a set of dominos, Jet Black Stazon Ink (#101406), Sharpie markers, some Crystal Effects (#101055) & stamps that will fit on the domino! Some of the images are not Stampin' Up! but most of them are. The sets from Stampin' Up! are Best of Snow & Polar Party so far. I also used some Stickles for the snow and glitter on some images.

Case Day Cards

Image
Today was a very productive day! I called it my "case day" as there were so many beautiful cards I've seen over the last few months. I managed to do 4 of the cards I had found on Pinterest to do. You can find the cards I did on my bored Christmas Cards.   This was the first card of the day and I chose to do it because I wanted to try this "Tea Bag Folding" . This fold was fairly easy compared to some of what I had seen. You can see the original card  that I cased on pinterest pinned to my board Christmas Cards.      Here is Case Day's 2nd card, changing it from just red to red & green. Check out the original card . Case Day's 3rd card, the original card  can again be seen on my board on Pinterest     Case Day's 4th and final card for the day. I am really loving these cards and will definitely be doing more. See the  original card  and decide which card you will case ;)

Beautiful Tea Bag Dispenser

Image
I have kinda been racking my brain to come up with a gift for a friend of mine for Christmas. She is fairly easy to think of things, but almost too easy lol. I was going to get her some pink Tupperware but that just wasn't sitting right so I decided not to. Then it hit me, I saw the tutorial for this on SplitCoastStamper and new that was what I was going to do! Just search Tea Box or Tea Bag Dispenser and you will find lots of them to use as inspiration. There is also lots of tutorials for different things, along with the Tea Bag Dispenser Box .   Here is a look at the front of the box. I had used old retired Christmas DSP because it had pink (her favorite color) in it. It is specialty DSP as the red is glittery but I can't remember the name of it.     This is a view of the top to show the cool fan fold flower . SplitCoastStampers is an amazing site for inspiration and tutorials

Festive Birthday

Image
I had seen this original card on pinterest and loved it right away! I thought it would be the perfect card to give a friend for her Birthday, her favorite color is yellow and she loves snow flakes. It's perfect!! I pretty much did the same thing as the original card but used different DSP & Ribbon. I just love how this card looks! It is retired Summer Sun CS & Ink along with the DSP (that I can't remember the name of at the moment), the other 2 snowflakes are stamped in Pumpkin Pie & Rich Razzleberry.

Beautiful Blue Christmas

Image
In my last post, Fancy Fold Card, I wasn't completely satisfied with the outcome of the card. I liked the inside but was unsure about the front, so I tried again. I used the same template as the first card but this time I just used DSP instead of Whisper White, then placing the DSP around it. It was much easier and faster but I think I like the first inside better. However I like the front of this card much better. I still used Mojo Monday sketch 319 but placed things before I started gluing and did a little more planning ;)   As you can see, I went all the way around and sponged everything, doing all the fold lines as well. That definitely added a little something.   I most certainly love the way the inside folds and I will get it mastered one of these days!

Fancy Fold Card

Image
I'm not sure what to call this card as the one I found wasn't in English! I was surfing on Pinterest one day and found an amazing card!! Of coarse I re-pinned it for later cause I had to give it a try myself. The only problem is, its in another language and the measurements are in cm instead of inches. I really wanted to try the card so I printed out her template and tried to convert cm to inches. I made a card with my dimensions and I am fairly pleased with it.   I tried to go fairly simple on the front as the inside is a little bulky. I used a Mojo Monday sketch for the inspiration on for front of the card.  Sketch 319     For the inside I pretty much used her layout but just used different paper.  I am in the Holiday spirit so really wanted it to be a Christmas card.  I haven't used the specialty paper in the Winter Frost Specialty DSP yet so thought it would work perfectly.   She had a template designed, but of coarse it was in her language and i

Envelope Organizer

Image
I wanted to do something a little special for the last month of My Demo's Secret Sister Challenge so I made this envelope organizer I had seen on Youtube. I used Stampin' Up! envelopes instead of the ones she used on her video but it turned out quite nice. Here is what the front looks like. I did alter it as I was not 100% happy with it. I changed the belly band to go around the other way and it is much better. Now I am completely satisfied  :)     Here are the inside & back side views.  There is an insert in each envelope but I didn't take a picture of them. They are just decorated simple so there is more room for writing.   Here is the inside and you can see the small flap on the left has a little silver thing... It is a magnetic closer. For the size of them, they are actually quite strong.     Here is the back side view. Nothing special, I just covered the envelope so you didn't see the flaps glued on the backs. Just a little decoration on t

My Tool Box

Image
I had come across a few blogs with this idea and wanted to do it for myself. It is such a good idea for those people that don't have a lot of things to cart around yet. It is perfect for my ladies that come do cards with me. I am going to make each of them one for Christmas.... although they won't get it until January so I guess it will be a late Christmas Present from me. Here is the one I did for myself. You have to be careful as to how crazy you go decorating them as I put it all under the plastic to protect it better. There are a couple layers but it doesn't take up too much of the front. I actually was inspired by a Mojo Monday sketch for this as well.... Sketch 312 The back is pretty plain but you can see I have a snowflake above the Handstamped By. I am patiently waiting for Stampin' Up! to come out with a winter themed one so until then, I have to make my own. I hope my ladies will enjoy getting their gift from me and find it useful when the c

The Snow Has Arrived!!

Image
The snow has come.... finally! I have to be honest, I like the snow. I don't like the extreme cold, but I like the snow. Once you get that first snow fall it doesn't look dirty anymore :) I was beginning to wonder if we were going to get any snow! I'm sure we got over an inch of rain yesterday. Not normally a November thing so I was starting to wonder. It was still raining when I went to bed last night but this is what we woke up to this morning, SNOW! Finally we have SNOW!

Merry Little Christmas Simply Created Card Kit

Image
This is an AMAZING kit!!! I got it with my starter kit when I signed up with Stampin' Up! It has been hanging out in my craft room for the last 2 1/2 months.  So I decided to ask my Card Club ladies if they would like to do the kit for November. We aren't holding a group in December so I thought it would be perfect... 8 cards instead of 2. They all agreed so that is what we'll do. They are a very easy card to make and I am all about simple and not too fancy but these are just a little too simple for me. I decorated them up just a bit with some inspiration of other & Pinterest! Simply Created Kit Merry Little Christmas Card 1 I have to admit I messed up this one just a little bit... Hopefully you can't even tell. I used Cherry Cobbler to color the stamp instead of Real Red.... Oops! 2013 Advent Calendar

Image
The Advent Calendar Class today was a great time! There was 5 of us making the advent calendars I had done a couple years ago. I made my daughter a new one this year and am going to spruce up the old one and give it to my cousin for his son.    These are great gift for grandparents to give there grandchildren. My daughter is 13, turning 14 this year. The other ladies did theirs for their grandchildren, ages ranging from 15 months to 5 years. It's all in what you put in them.... and I have no idea what to put in mine. Like really! What do I put in each of the 24 tins for a 13 year old. I don't want to do all treats or chocolates this year so have to come up with some other ideas!   Here is the calendar I did at the class today It is using the Festive Furry Specialty DSP from the holiday mini catalogue. The tins you can get at Michael's but white seem to be harder to find. They are wedding favor tins so look for them in the wedding sections of Michael's.

Box Card & Tags

Image
I am always unsure of what to give as a door prize as most of my ladies are just starting out. I also am just starting out as a demo so am always open to suggestions. I was talking with my upline (my Mom) and asked what I could give them cause they are new and don't have a lot of stuff yet, what kinds of things could I get for them. She told me not to buy stuff, make it! What a novel idea!!!      Between StampinConnection and Pinterest, I made this set. The instructions for the box was a video and a couple of the cards I found on Pinterest. I will try and get a link to the tags at least but not sure how to do the video. Here is the link for 2 of the tags on Pinterest   http://www.pinterest.com/pin/544372673678580410/   Here is the card closed with the belly band and the matching envelope if you choose to give it out as the money card or gift card holder.   Here is a view of the box card open with a gift card in it with all the tags. I hope they like it as their do

A Merry Little Mojo

Image
I have to admit I struggled a little with this one. I thought I knew what I wanted to do but I was wrong.... Well half wrong ;)  I knew I wanted to do today's Mojo Monday Sketch #315, but I couldn't decide what stamp set I wanted to use. I played with 3 different set before I was happy with this one! I am really pleased with how this one turned out so I'm glad I didn't settle for one of the other ones I had played with   This is the second card I am doing with my Card Club. The first one is going to take us some time, which is good seeing as they few threw both cards last month is just over an hour. That was including a shot break for a snack. So the second one I decided to do somewhat simpler.         Card Instructions:      Seeing as I can't seem to figure out how upload my instructions on here, I will just have to settle for doing it this way for now.   The card base is cut out of Cherry Cobbler @ 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, the next layer of Whisp

Twisted Christmas!

Image
Wishing Everyone a Happy Thanksgiving Long Weekend!!!   I was able to spend most of today in my craftroom getting ready for my "Christmas All Year" Card Club. I am really pleased with how the first card turned out. If I can be so lucky as to have the second card turn out half as well as the first, I'll be happy :)     It's not a hard card at all but I am working on some instructions, at least for all the dimensions. Want to make this card in the comfort of your own Craftroom? You can!! Just CLICK HERE for your very own tutorial :)

Another Mojo Sketch

Image
Mojo Monday Sketch - 301      Here is one of the 2 cards I am planning on doing for my second Card Club Meeting. I really quite enjoy doing Christmas cards and I have no trouble doing Christmas themed things all year long.  Hopefully I can turn this into something a little more long term.   Here's the Sketch I used for this card

Mojo Sketch - 309

Image
Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge - 309 Wow! Hard to believe summer is just about over! My daughter is heading back to school and is extremely excited about it. I think she is the only teenager I know that get excited about going back to school. She has had her backpack packed up for over a week, and has it sitting by the door. She is excited about School and I am excited about Christmas being just around the corner. Only 112 days till Christmas!! Christmas is my most favorite time of year, not entirely sure why but it is. It could have something to do with my daughter's birthday being the day after Christmas, best present I ever got :D  I never seem to have any trouble making Christmas cards. I make them all year and have never made the same card a second time.  Here is the second card for Septembers card club! Here is the Sketch from Mojo Monday

Undefined Stamps

Image
Stitch from Disney's Lilo & Stitch    I love penguins so I decided to carved the one I have tattooed on my hand.  This is the second Undefined stamp I've carved.  I think it will be interesting to incorporate him onto a card.

Soup Can Desk Organizer

Image
Recycle & Organize!      This is a great idea to recycle and organize all at the same time!! Take 3 different sized soup cans and just use your favorite DSP and whatever embellishments you want, and BOOM.... Your new desk organizer! I used retired Stampin' Up DSP & On Board embellishments but the new DSP is beautiful and there are some really nice embellishments and ribbons to choose from. To put the cans together after they were decorated, I just positioned them where I wanted them and used Hot Glue to adhere them together. Go to "shop now" and see it all :)

Here's to new things! The most recent new things for me are....  About a month ago I signed up to be an Independent Stampin' Up Demonstrator.
