Holiday Favorites Recipe Book

Well, my Daughter left me for the weekend! Her and my Mom went to the lake for a family Birthday Party and I decided to stay home because I couldn't find anyone to watch our puppy and I had to work Saturday nigh. I wasn't sure what I was going to do for 3 hole days by myself! The first wasn't too bad as I had to work an evening shift. Sunday morning when I got up I came into my craftroom and started on the door prize for my card club. That took most of Sunday as it was a bigger project than I thought! I have had the instructions for quite some time, along with many others, so I thought door prizes would be perfect to do all these things! Kelly Acheson's  instructions  for this project are very simple and easy to follow! Here are the pics of my take on her Holiday Recipe Book. ☺ Happy Crafting ☺

June's Door Prize

I am really excited for this months Card Club because it will be the first time doing it at my house. I cleaned up an end of my basement and we are going to do it there. It will be so much easier doing it at home, I tend to forget things and even thought it was only next door. It was a royal pain in the you know what to go get what I forgot.  I hope it isn't to crowed down there but I guess we will see! ANYWAYS I don't have the cards yet but I have the Door Prize all done! Wallet Style Smash Book I had found a video on Youtube on how this amazing project was done!  I like to have printable instructions so I used the measurements she had for the main wallet and I added the measurements I used for the tags in the wallet and used my pictures. I will add my instructions and hopefully you can print them for yourselves.

Altered Wood-Mount Case

I just love all the different ways I am finding everywhere to alter the wood-mount cases Stampin' Up! sells. I saw a video to use one of the half size cases to make a little Post it note case. You can see the original video that I saw and create some of your own. Here is the pictures of the one that I made from the tutorial. Instead of using pencils which is what she used, I managed to find some pens from Staples that are assorted colors and I believe, come in a box of 12.

Altered Wood-Mount Cases

I finally got all the cases done that I wanted to do for my girls. These cases are really quite simple to do. For the base piece of DSP, cut it to 7 1/16 x 11 3/16 and just decorate from there. I had somewhat of a hard time trying to find different ways to decorate them, but I managed and am really pleased with how they turned out. All the DSP for these cases was from my retired stock so that is one way to use up some of your old stock. The letters are from Taylored Expressions but everything else is Stampin' Up!        I am also doing one of these cases for the My Paper Pumpkin stamps that will come in the monthly kits for this year. Last year I used the clear mount stamps and had to use 2 of them, this way I will just use a chunk of the window sheet to stick the stamps to and that way they will all fit in one case.

Tool Box

I made myself a tool box from a wood mount case and decided I would make one for a few of my ladies. Here is the first of 6 that I will be doing. Keep posted as I will be putting them up as I make them! They are great for beginners with just a few things to take to Club Night. The measurement I used for the Base DSP was 11 3/16 x 7 1/16, that gives you a little room on the edges so it's not too tight when decorating. Happy Crafting :)

My Monthly Planner!

I love doing these Monthly Planners! I usually end up doing one every year even though I make it so that I can kinda use it from year to year. The plastic covers don't really hold up all that well. Here is the one I did for 2014. I used a sketch I saw on Pinterest, PPA145 , simple but very nice! The DSP is from Stampin' Up! out of the new Occasions Mini, Retro Fresh. There are no real instructions for doing this.... All I do is measure the inside of the plastic cover and cut the paper slightly smaller that what is measures. I took the staple out of the calendar and punched holes in the DSP after I scored and folded it. Then I put the staple back in, attaching the DSP to the calendar itself. Then you just decorate as you desire.... but don't put to much embellishment on it! Keep it fairly flat so the plastic lasts a little longer :)   Happy Crafting!

Envelope Organizer

I wanted to do something a little special for the last month of My Demo's Secret Sister Challenge so I made this envelope organizer I had seen on Youtube. I used Stampin' Up! envelopes instead of the ones she used on her video but it turned out quite nice. Here is what the front looks like. I did alter it as I was not 100% happy with it. I changed the belly band to go around the other way and it is much better. Now I am completely satisfied  :)     Here are the inside & back side views.  There is an insert in each envelope but I didn't take a picture of them. They are just decorated simple so there is more room for writing.   Here is the inside and you can see the small flap on the left has a little silver thing... It is a magnetic closer. For the size of them, they are actually quite strong.     Here is the back side view. Nothing special, I just covered the envelope so you didn't see the flaps glued on the backs. Just a...

My Tool Box

I had come across a few blogs with this idea and wanted to do it for myself. It is such a good idea for those people that don't have a lot of things to cart around yet. It is perfect for my ladies that come do cards with me. I am going to make each of them one for Christmas.... although they won't get it until January so I guess it will be a late Christmas Present from me. Here is the one I did for myself. You have to be careful as to how crazy you go decorating them as I put it all under the plastic to protect it better. There are a couple layers but it doesn't take up too much of the front. I actually was inspired by a Mojo Monday sketch for this as well.... Sketch 312 The back is pretty plain but you can see I have a snowflake above the Handstamped By. I am patiently waiting for Stampin' Up! to come out with a winter themed one so until then, I have to make my own. I hope my ladies will enjoy getting their gift from me and find it useful when the c...

Soup Can Desk Organizer

Recycle & Organize!      This is a great idea to recycle and organize all at the same time!! Take 3 different sized soup cans and just use your favorite DSP and whatever embellishments you want, and BOOM.... Your new desk organizer! I used retired Stampin' Up DSP & On Board embellishments but the new DSP is beautiful and there are some really nice embellishments and ribbons to choose from. To put the cans together after they were decorated, I just positioned them where I wanted them and used Hot Glue to adhere them together. Go to "shop now" and see it all :)
