2013 Advent Calendar

The Advent Calendar Class today was a great time! There was 5 of us making the advent calendars I had done a couple years ago. I made my daughter a new one this year and am going to spruce up the old one and give it to my cousin for his son.

These are great gift for grandparents to give there grandchildren. My daughter is 13, turning 14 this year. The other ladies did theirs for their grandchildren, ages ranging from 15 months to 5 years. It's all in what you put in them.... and I have no idea what to put in mine.
Like really! What do I put in each of the 24 tins for a 13 year old. I don't want to do all treats or chocolates this year so have to come up with some other ideas!

Here is the calendar I did at the class today

It is using the Festive Furry Specialty DSP from the holiday mini catalogue. The tins you can get at Michael's but white seem to be harder to find. They are wedding favor tins so look for them in the wedding sections of Michael's.

Here is the calendar my Mom did today at the calendar class
This one is using Season Of Style DSP from the holiday mini catalogue as well. She make her snowflakes with the festive flurry bundle from the holiday mini also. The CRICUT machine is what she used to cut out her letters & numbers.

Fancy Fold Card

I'm not sure what to call this card as the one I found wasn't in English! I was surfing on Pinterest one day and found an amazing card!! Of coarse I re-pinned it for later cause I had to give it a try myself. The only problem is, its in another language and the measurements are in cm instead of inches. I really wanted to try the card so I printed out her template and tried to convert cm to inches. I made a card with my dimensions and I am fairly pleased with it.   I tried to go fairly simple on the front as the inside is a little bulky. I used a Mojo Monday sketch for the inspiration on for front of the card.  Sketch 319     For the inside I pretty much used her layout but just used different paper.  I am in the Holiday spirit so really wanted it to be a Christmas card.  I haven't used the specialty paper in the Winter Frost Specialty DSP yet so thought it would work perfectly.   She had a template designed, but of coa...

Christmas (Domino) Ornaments

Decorate with these simple Domino Ornaments! They are very easy! All you need is a set of dominos, Jet Black Stazon Ink (#101406), Sharpie markers, some Crystal Effects (#101055) & stamps that will fit on the domino! Some of the images are not Stampin' Up! but most of them are. The sets from Stampin' Up! are Best of Snow & Polar Party so far. I also used some Stickles for the snow and glitter on some images.

Christmas Cheer Gift Card Holder

Last year I carried on my Mom's tradition of doing the 12 days of Christmas with my daughter. She had done it every year buy one since my daughter was about 2, I can't remember exactly when she started it... but I can't remember yesterday so... 😂 I decided instead of giving my 16 year old a bunch of stupid things she would likely never use and I would likely toss in the garbage before long, I would give her gift cards instead.  It was a great idea, it was a hit!      Her birthday is Boxing Day so we usually go shopping in the city seeing as it's still a pretty busy day for most families.  She was able to spend around $200-$250 in gift card money so it was all good!  I think doing it that way is a much better way of doing it, what do you think?      I thought I would get a head start on Gift Cards for this year as it is a great way to give a gift and still have the recipient have a choice in what to buy. I have a fe...
