Beautiful Blizzard in August

I spent the morning playing with the first of many of the new Bundles from the 2018 Holiday Catalog! I was so excited when I received my box of goodies last week, but had to wait till the weekend before I could play! Of the 14 bundles in the new catalog... I bought 6 of them right off the hop PLUS a bunch of other goodies... My order was a doozie 😉
I was asked to do a workshop in a near by community and this will be the first one I have ever done so maybe it will become a regular thing! I was told the ladies that will be attending are new to Stampin' Up! but have stamped and scrapbooked before, they meet once a month to scrapbook so I'm sure they aren't at a beginner level. Although, at a beginner level, I don't think this card would be too difficult for them to do.
I have to admit that the idea was from another demo's card, mine looks nothing like hers but the idea still came from her so I want to give her the credit 😉  Amy Koenders is her name and you can see her card on Pinterest. As soon as I seen it, I had this idea for mine. I guess it also includes Kelly Acherson's Vellum Overlay Technique that can be found on Pinterest as well so they both deserve credit! So that is where the idea for my card came from... Love Pinterest for that!!!
It is really a very simple card! You can see what the dimensions are just by looking, only 3 layers and 2 of them are exactly the same!
  • Night of Navy card base is cut to 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" so half a sheet of CS and then scored at 5 1/2"
  • A Whisper White and Vellum piece each cut at 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Another Whisper White piece for the sentiment cut to 1" x 3 1/4"
You can do whatever colors you want but for me Snowflakes and winter is blue's with some glimmer. I really like the colors I chose, they look nice together! I stamped on the Whisper White piece and put the sentiment piece and the snowflakes on the vellum piece. To stick the vellum down I just used a glue dot under something so they aren't seen. Then to add a little more glimmer, I put some rhinestones in the middle of the snowflakes.

Christmas (Domino) Ornaments

Decorate with these simple Domino Ornaments! They are very easy! All you need is a set of dominos, Jet Black Stazon Ink (#101406), Sharpie markers, some Crystal Effects (#101055) & stamps that will fit on the domino! Some of the images are not Stampin' Up! but most of them are. The sets from Stampin' Up! are Best of Snow & Polar Party so far. I also used some Stickles for the snow and glitter on some images.

Fancy Fold Card

I'm not sure what to call this card as the one I found wasn't in English! I was surfing on Pinterest one day and found an amazing card!! Of coarse I re-pinned it for later cause I had to give it a try myself. The only problem is, its in another language and the measurements are in cm instead of inches. I really wanted to try the card so I printed out her template and tried to convert cm to inches. I made a card with my dimensions and I am fairly pleased with it.   I tried to go fairly simple on the front as the inside is a little bulky. I used a Mojo Monday sketch for the inspiration on for front of the card.  Sketch 319     For the inside I pretty much used her layout but just used different paper.  I am in the Holiday spirit so really wanted it to be a Christmas card.  I haven't used the specialty paper in the Winter Frost Specialty DSP yet so thought it would work perfectly.   She had a template designed, but of coa...

Christmas Cheer Gift Card Holder

Last year I carried on my Mom's tradition of doing the 12 days of Christmas with my daughter. She had done it every year buy one since my daughter was about 2, I can't remember exactly when she started it... but I can't remember yesterday so... 😂 I decided instead of giving my 16 year old a bunch of stupid things she would likely never use and I would likely toss in the garbage before long, I would give her gift cards instead.  It was a great idea, it was a hit!      Her birthday is Boxing Day so we usually go shopping in the city seeing as it's still a pretty busy day for most families.  She was able to spend around $200-$250 in gift card money so it was all good!  I think doing it that way is a much better way of doing it, what do you think?      I thought I would get a head start on Gift Cards for this year as it is a great way to give a gift and still have the recipient have a choice in what to buy. I have a fe...
