Easter is Coming...

I was super excited to get at decorating treats for Easter after I did the adorable ones for Valentine's Day! I had come across some chocolate treats along the same line as the ones I decorated for Sweet Hearts Day and I bought 1 of each of the little critters, there were 4 so that wasn't bad. I got some other treats to do up treat bags of some sort too so I am excited for Easter now! I will actually have things done ahead of time!
I didn't make it to my craft room on Saturday but I sure did Sunday and I was bound and determined to get something done! And that I did!! I don't always get a lot done but if I make one thing, I'm happy. I managed to get 2 of the little Treat Bags done.
I don't have a lot of DSP that could be used for an Easter project but I found this stuff and thought it was perfect! It is the Sweet Sorbet DSP that I think was a Sale-A-Bration years ago. Unfortunately I went through the entire package before getting the bags right and not mess up by accident! It takes 2 sheets to do each bag so you can go through your stash of DSP pretty quick when you mess up 😕
I did watch a bunch of Treat Bag videos on YouTube before I did these but changing measurements isn't an easy task for me! I always mess up 😂
As I said, you will need 2 pieces of DSP cut to 10" x  9 1/2" and make sure if your DSP has any directionality to it that you get the top 1 1/2" score line so the DSP looks right when folded over!

  • with the 10" side at the top, score at 1 1/2" and at 7 1/4".
  • rotate so the 9 1/2" side is at the top and score at 2 3/4" and at 6 3/4".
  • the 1 1/2" score is to be folded the oposite direction as what you want to be on the outside of the bag, fold and vernish your score lines and then cut up to the first score line on the bottom of the box.
  • you will do each one the same way and then just simply put them together, one inside the other.
  • for the handle, I just eye balled it and punched where I figured the middle was.

The first one I did was the lighter colored one! I saved the black one till I knew I was going to like what I was doing so I didn't mess up on that one!! I still have 2 more treats to decorate so will have to find just the right DSP now that I know what I'm doing!
I really like how the dark DSP looks with an Easter themed project! I am excited to do the other 2 and see how they turn out.
I watched a few more videos on YouTube now so think I may try doing the other ones a slightly different way... Same type idea and will still need the 2 sheets of DSP but putting together might be a bit easier! I might even just make a few more bags to just have to use for future give-a-ways! I can just decorate as I need them.
I am going to give one of them away to one of my ladies that always plays along with whatever I post 😊. I put a little Scavenger Hunt on my Facebook Page for a chance to win one of the Easter Treat Bags and I have had a couple complete it.

Anyway... aside from using some of my Retired DSP, I tried to use mostly new products. The grass is a Retired product as well, it's from the Basket Builder Framelits Dies but everything else is current.

Fancy Fold Card

I'm not sure what to call this card as the one I found wasn't in English! I was surfing on Pinterest one day and found an amazing card!! Of coarse I re-pinned it for later cause I had to give it a try myself. The only problem is, its in another language and the measurements are in cm instead of inches. I really wanted to try the card so I printed out her template and tried to convert cm to inches. I made a card with my dimensions and I am fairly pleased with it.   I tried to go fairly simple on the front as the inside is a little bulky. I used a Mojo Monday sketch for the inspiration on for front of the card.  Sketch 319     For the inside I pretty much used her layout but just used different paper.  I am in the Holiday spirit so really wanted it to be a Christmas card.  I haven't used the specialty paper in the Winter Frost Specialty DSP yet so thought it would work perfectly.   She had a template designed, but of coa...

Christmas (Domino) Ornaments

Decorate with these simple Domino Ornaments! They are very easy! All you need is a set of dominos, Jet Black Stazon Ink (#101406), Sharpie markers, some Crystal Effects (#101055) & stamps that will fit on the domino! Some of the images are not Stampin' Up! but most of them are. The sets from Stampin' Up! are Best of Snow & Polar Party so far. I also used some Stickles for the snow and glitter on some images.

Another Ultimate Pop Up Card

AKA Explosion Pop Up Card You may have to search multiple names for this style of card to find all the cards that others have made & posted. There are likely lots of instructions and video tutorials but I have made one for myself and posted it to the Card Instructions & Printables tab of my blog. Originally I watched the video done by Sam of Mixed Up Craft   and found it extremely easy to follow. However... I don't remember &%$@ so like to have a printable version of the cards I really like to make so I can do them again. I tend to forget sometimes where I originally seen something.       I will have everything I used in the Product List buy thought I'd just tell you that the only thing I used from the Magnolia Memory Dies is the pretty border die. Don't go looking to see anything else from that set cause that was it. Just need a little something to decorate the top.      Also the "Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Magno...
