The Floating Frame Technique

The Fun Floating Frame Technique!!

I have seen some absolutely stunning cards done with a new technique called the Floating Frame and I just had to try it! To do it the way most everyone is doing it, you need to head over to your local grocery store and buy Glad Press'n Seal.
I really love how the cards look, although... these are the only 2 I have done so far but I think I might try some different ones. Of the 2 I did, I have to say... the one using the Tropical Chic set it my favorite!
I did case these from another Demo! I had seen hers on the Facebook Demo group and feel instantly in love with the black and white! I don't like to case without giving credit to the original designer so you can see hers on her Website! If the link doesn't take you directly to her cards, they were posted Tuesday March 19, 2019. I was hoping to be able to pin them to my Pinterest board but I wasn't able to so maybe different countries have stipulations!

I did my second card basically the same way just used a different stamp set! Funny how different they look being done pretty much the same way! Maybe just more color in the top one doing the sponging a darker color on before stamping. The Oh So Eclectic set is just a Distinctive stamp set so you kind of get that look of lighter and darker shades.
This is a really fun technique buy it does have a few problems... well, that I have found anyway. You have to be really careful, I had a couple spots on both cards when I pulled off the Press'n Seal, it pulled off some of the ink and peeled some of the paper off. You can see in the top photo, the one purple flower in the bottom right corner is really bad! I was able to fix a few spots by adding the same die cut on top of the flawed one. I was able to fix both bad spots on the bottom photo with adding a die cut.
I did see someone else, another Demo did this technique but used Window Sheets instead of the Press'n Seal and it looked really nice too... Even gave it a little shine, added a little something 😉

Christmas (Domino) Ornaments

Decorate with these simple Domino Ornaments! They are very easy! All you need is a set of dominos, Jet Black Stazon Ink (#101406), Sharpie markers, some Crystal Effects (#101055) & stamps that will fit on the domino! Some of the images are not Stampin' Up! but most of them are. The sets from Stampin' Up! are Best of Snow & Polar Party so far. I also used some Stickles for the snow and glitter on some images.

Fancy Fold Card

I'm not sure what to call this card as the one I found wasn't in English! I was surfing on Pinterest one day and found an amazing card!! Of coarse I re-pinned it for later cause I had to give it a try myself. The only problem is, its in another language and the measurements are in cm instead of inches. I really wanted to try the card so I printed out her template and tried to convert cm to inches. I made a card with my dimensions and I am fairly pleased with it.   I tried to go fairly simple on the front as the inside is a little bulky. I used a Mojo Monday sketch for the inspiration on for front of the card.  Sketch 319     For the inside I pretty much used her layout but just used different paper.  I am in the Holiday spirit so really wanted it to be a Christmas card.  I haven't used the specialty paper in the Winter Frost Specialty DSP yet so thought it would work perfectly.   She had a template designed, but of coa...

Christmas Cheer Gift Card Holder

Last year I carried on my Mom's tradition of doing the 12 days of Christmas with my daughter. She had done it every year buy one since my daughter was about 2, I can't remember exactly when she started it... but I can't remember yesterday so... 😂 I decided instead of giving my 16 year old a bunch of stupid things she would likely never use and I would likely toss in the garbage before long, I would give her gift cards instead.  It was a great idea, it was a hit!      Her birthday is Boxing Day so we usually go shopping in the city seeing as it's still a pretty busy day for most families.  She was able to spend around $200-$250 in gift card money so it was all good!  I think doing it that way is a much better way of doing it, what do you think?      I thought I would get a head start on Gift Cards for this year as it is a great way to give a gift and still have the recipient have a choice in what to buy. I have a fe...
